Godrevy Beach

Godrevy Beach, located in Hayle in west Cornwall forms the northerly tip of a magnificent three and a half mile stretch of golden sands with shallow waters, backed by endless dunes with spectacular views out across the bay and to the neighbouring town of St Ives

At low tide, Godrevy beach is connected to Gwithian towans to reveal an expanse of flat golden sand that attracts everyone from horse riders to kite boarders alike.  Please be aware at high tide the majority of Godrevy gets covered by the sea so remember to check the time of high water so you don’t get caught out.

It’s exposed west facing position,  making Godrevy beach a popular surfing beach with it taking the brunt of Atlantic swells. If you fancy the thrill of riding the Cornish waves a surf school operates from the beach car park offering lessons throughout the holiday seasons. A dog friendly beach cafe sits just behind the dunes perfect for a post surf snack.

The South West Coast Path wraps around the headland with lovely views of Godrevy Lighthouse, and for the nature lovers, Godrevy also has an abundance of wildlife including a colony of seals that live on a secluded beach just a short walk from the car park!
